Occasionally a video is found and its details load, but there’s no transcript to work from. Here’s what that means and what you can do.
Why it happens
Not every YouTube video has captions, and some creators turn off access to them. Without a transcript there’s nothing to ground answers in.
Why we don’t guess
Answers on Ask From Video come only from what’s said in the video. Writing a summary from the title or description would look helpful but couldn’t be checked, so we don’t.
Upload instead
If you have the video file, upload it. The audio is transcribed directly, and you get the same summary, transcript and timestamped answers as with any other video.
- 01Download or locate the original file.
- 02Choose Upload Video on the home page.
- 03Drop the file in and press Analyze Video.
