Most long videos are built around a small number of ideas. The hard part isn’t understanding them. It’s finding them without sitting through every minute in between.
Start with the link
Copy the URL from your browser or the YouTube app’s Share menu. Ask From Video accepts regular watch links, youtu.be short links, Shorts and embed links, and checks that the link points to a single video before anything runs.
Channel pages and playlists aren’t single videos, so they won’t work. Open the specific video first and copy its link.
Read the summary first
The summary gives you the shape of the video in a paragraph. Use it to decide whether the video is worth more of your time, and which parts.
Use key takeaways as a map
Each key takeaway carries a timestamp. Treat the list as a map: click the points you care about and the player jumps straight to where they’re said.
- Skim the takeaways for the ones relevant to you.
- Click a timestamp to hear the point in the speaker’s own words.
- Use chapters to see how the video is organised around those points.
